Asia Fitness Conference – The Fitness Industry’s Best Kept Secret.

AFC_Blog.png

Many of us are aware of International events, like IHRSA in San Diego, USA or FIBO in Cologne, Germany, but getting to these events from Australia can be prohibitively expensive. Locally, we’ve all heard of (and attended) FILEX, which is a great learning event, but there is more available to you than you might realise.

The Asia Fitness Conference in Bangkok is undoubtedly one of the best kept secrets among leading Australian fitness professionals.

Why ‘the best-kept secret’?

For those of us that live outside of New South Wales, Bangkok is actually not much harder or more expensive to get to than Sydney!

The Asia Fitness Conference has, for a number of years, included respected Australian presenters alongside an impressive international line-up. This year there are eight Australian presenters including Dave Liow, Alisha Smith, Dan Henderson, Maria Teresa Stone, Paul Brown, Brendan Tuck, Benjamin Siong and Angela Jenkins.

Further to this, those that have attended have all commented on the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the event. This point alone is one of the most cited reasons why professionals are returning to the event.

What makes it worth the trip?

Suzanne Hosley, owner of Fitness Innovations Thailand and AFC Partner and Program Director, provides five reasons why this conference should be on your radar…

60+ passionate presenters from over 15 countries – all of whom say it is their favourite event in the world.

1,200 enthusiastic delegates from over 30 countries.

REAL food all day long, coffee breaks, lunches, more coffee breaks.

The Saturday Night Party with food, drinks, entertainment and dancing.

Networking opportunities with fitness professionals from all over Asia (plus an increasing number of Australians).

PLUS, 2018 marks a special year for the Asia Fitness Conference. It will mark 10 years since the first event. As a result, all delegates will be receiving a limited edition 10th anniversary t-shirt when they register.

To these points I would add a further three points…

The cost of the Asia Fitness Conference is very competitive. Even at the regular rate (no early-bird discount), the ticket price comes in approximately $300 cheaper than a FILEX standard regstration.

Again, flights and accommodation (for those of us that require it for Sydney) are not so different to get to Bangkok. And if you take into account the saving on the event fee and the included refreshments and lunch at the event, it looks even better!

CEC/PDP accumulation is no longer the issue it used to be. For many, the trip to FILEX was a way to rack up nearly two years worth of registration points. Now that FITREC provides a fitness registration alternative without the points accumulation requirement, professionals are free to explore a wider variety of development opportunities.

I look forward to seeing you there in October 2018. If not then, there’s every chance I’ll catch you in 2019.

Need more convincing? Here is some feedback from last year’s delegates…

It was nothing short of a dream to be under the same roof and share the space with fitness professionals from all over the world. Three days of education and practical exercise sessions conducted by presenters who are the biggest industry influencers of today!!!

THANK YOU for being such an inspiration to us ALL and giving us the opportunity to have this experience and connect with like-minded people across the globe. THANK YOU to each and every smiling face and motivated spirit that I met and have learned sooooo much from. I feel a renewed determination to not only ‘be the best that I can be’ but also a fire burning so bright inside of me to impact & influence as many lives as I can through my journey. Looking forward to AFC 2018 already!

Awesome energy all four days and great learning opportunity. Lots of fun at Asia Fitness Convention 2017, Bangkok. Thanks to all Presenters for sharing their hard-earned knowledge and AFC for providing the forum.

Looking back, it’s been 6-7 years at the Asia Fitness Conference! From the moment I knew of its existence, I’ve been there every single year, attending certifications, workshops and lectures. It is clearly one of the best investments I have ever made, to be a better trainer for my clients, to be a better business owner and a better person… So it’s great to go on this journey together with friends to learn, let loose a little, reconnect and also get to meet and know more people along the way. Thank you. I’ll be back in 2018.

As we heard at the closing ceremony, this is not a closing ceremony but an opening ceremony for all of us to open for more opportunities and you can be the best you can be as a fitness coach in the next few years. Let’s stay connected, do something proactive every day and share ideas that make us better and lead us through success together. We will do the best that we can to serve our clients with dedication and be results driven. Let us be better together every day. Thank you to all AFC presenters 2017 for giving us the motivation and knowledge to make us the best that we can be as fitness coaches. See you next year.

  1. I can fully concur with this excellent article on the merits of the Asia Fitness Conference, it is an outstanding event and surprisingly an economical option for Australian Fitness professionals to attend. Best of all is the atmosphere and networking opportunities.
I urge all our peers to come and join us for AFC #10 in October 2018.
